Broughton Heights

Broughton Heights is outside the CTA and does not have its own paragliding zone.  XC flights from Broughton in a SW wind generally follow a track parallel to the Moorfoots, commonly over the summits.

It may therefore assist to activate the Moorfoots Paragliding Zone which allows clearance up to 4000ft southeast of a line 1nm behind the Moorfoots.

A request to extend the Moorfoots Paragliding Zone to the NW to include the Moorfoot ridge has been lodged with NATS and will be considered in April.

AT THIS TIME, THE ACTUAL MOORFOOT RIDGE IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY AGREED ZONE AND CLEARANCE THERE IS TO 3500ft.
